Emory acquired a series of letters written from Barack Obama to his then-girlfriend Alexandra McNear between 1982 and 1984. I’ve had the opportunity to study each of these nine letters and was moved by their intelligence, sensitivity, and wisdom. They reveal a man of letters engaged in formative dialogue with himself and the world around him.
